The Sundarbans is beautiful because it is unpredictable. This unique ecosystem is defined by tides, seasonal cycles, and weather which offers a different experience each time. It is a constantly fresh canvas of nature to travellers and photographers.

The pre-monsoon season, typically from March to May in eastern India and Bangladesh, brings significant environmental changes to river systems, especially in delta regions like the Sundarbans. One of the most noticeable changes during this period is the rise in salinity levels in rivers and estuaries.

The monsoon season is not the place to go for tiger photography. A lot of wildlife photographers do not like the rainy season as they think wet forests and cloudy sky will not be conducive to shooting. Tiger imprints like the pugmarks, scratch mark, scent mark, and their territorial trail leave a strong storytelling potential to the wildlife photographers that are guided by conservation and documentation of wildlife habitats.

The months of November till February are pleasant, the humidity is lower and visibility is higher- this is the perfect time to take out the cameras and capture a real picture. Animal movement is enhanced at this season and is therefore easy to see and capture a great variety of species that characterize this special mangrove ecosystem.
